the light was low, save one spotlight. candles flickered and the musicians did what they do best. three separate stages- two under the roof of the celebrated penthouse, the third – roofless- a deck under the sky on quite literally the hottest night in Seattle’s history. the pictures poured out of my nikons and my hasselblads like the demi that hebb poured atop the pouisson. the tape rolled in the 4 HD cameras like the sweat rolled off david bazan’s forehead under the 400 watt HMI (despite the a/c on full power it was still 85 in the room…). the mood was both light and heavy and i hope more than anything that these still and moving pictures give you a vivid sense of what it felt like to be at the table with this amazing group of people.
